Write it Down, Make it Happen: The Power of Intention Setting!

Do you ever feel like you want something so badly, but no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to make it happen? Whether it's a new job, a romantic partner, or a healthier lifestyle, it's frustrating when your desires don't materialize. But what if I told you that writing down your intentions can help you manifest the things that you want in your life? It might sound a little crazy, but it’s worked for me!

Before I met my husband, I created a list of all the characteristics that I wanted my ideal partner to have. I used past relationships and experiences to help me get very clear and very specific about what I wanted in a partner. My list was quite long and had I shared the list with my friends, they likely would have said that I was being to picky. But none the less, at that point I knew what I wanted and I wasn’t willing to except anything else. Just a few months later, I was introduced to my husband and he literally checked every single box on my list.

Here's how it works:

1. Writing down your intentions helps you focus

When you write down your intentions, you're giving yourself a clear target to focus on. This focus helps you filter out distractions and prioritize your actions towards achieving your goal. You're more likely to take action and make progress when you have a clear target in mind.

2. Writing down your intentions helps you clarify what you really want

Sometimes we think we want something, but we're not entirely sure. By writing down your intentions, you're forcing yourself to clarify what you really want. This clarity helps you make better decisions and take actions that are aligned with your true desires.

3. Writing down your intentions creates a roadmap for success

When you write down your intentions, you're essentially creating a roadmap for success. You can break down your goal into smaller, more manageable steps, and create an action plan for each one. This plan will help you stay on track and make progress towards your goal.

4. Writing down your intentions helps you stay motivated

Writing down your intentions is a powerful way to stay motivated. When you're feeling down or discouraged, you can refer back to your written intentions and remind yourself of why you're doing what you're doing. This can give you the boost of motivation that you need to keep going.

5. Writing down your intentions is a form of visualization

Visualization is a powerful tool for manifesting your desires. When you write down your intentions, you're essentially visualizing what you want. This visualization helps to create a mental image of your desired outcome, which can make it more real and achievable in your mind.

So, how can you start writing down your intentions? Here are a few tips:

  1. Write your intentions in the present tense. For example, instead of saying "I want to lose 15 pounds," say "I am at my ideal weight of ? pounds.”

  2. Be specific about what you want. Don't just say "I want a better job." Instead, specify the type of job, the salary, and the work-life balance that you desire.

  3. Write your intentions in a journal or notebook. This will make it easier to refer back to them and track your progress.

  4. Review your intentions regularly, and adjust them if necessary. As you make progress towards your goal, your intentions may evolve, and that's okay!

  5. Celebrate your successes along the way. Every step towards your goal is worth celebrating!

In conclusion, the act of putting our thoughts and dreams onto paper serves as a tangible representation of our innermost desires. By writing down our intentions, we give them shape and form, solidifying their existence in our consciousness and the universe. It is a declaration to ourselves and the world that we are committed to bringing these aspirations to life.

Furthermore, writing down our intentions allows us to clarify and refine our goals, bringing focus and direction to our journey. It serves as a constant reminder of what we truly want, strengthening our determination and motivation. So, whether it's a dream, a goal, or a heartfelt desire, don't underestimate the power of pen and paper. Write down your intentions, for in doing so, you unlock the potential to manifest the life you truly desire.
